    Can acne have long-term effects?
    I have REALLY bad acne. It's been clearing away recently, but it seems to be coming back at full force now.

    Hi, Xatu!

    Yes, the scars of really bad acne can last for a long time. But, that's if the acne is really bad and lasts for a very long time. Many people who have acne that is really bad, don't get any scars.

    When I was a teenager, I had really bad acne for a number of years, but no scars were left because of it. My acne was so bad that some people called me "pizza face"!

    Your acne might not be as bad as you think that it is. Have you been to a dermatologist for an examination and do you have any scars from the acne that you've had, please?
