About 3 months ago I noticed my daughter had a bald spot on the top of her hair about the size of a milk bottle lid now she has another 1 on the side of her head but this bald patch is quite big there's no scars but they are completely bald the first one she had is slowly growing hair back but is still very noticeable she's very healthy and active but during these times she did have a bad headlice problem that took ages to clear up and I'm still treating her for that every 2 weeks or so I would like to hear from any-one with the same problem or any advice

Several years ago, the same thing happened to my niece's scalp, approximately in the same spots, around the same age (she was 6 at the time), and she too had previously had a sever case of head lice - doctor said Alopecia...
It turned out to be caused by continuous use of lice shampoos and treatments for longer than the recommended time.

May I just add that ever since she was about 2 she had a bad eating habit where she wouldn't eat cooked food even the most delicious food like burger king, any meat, bread or takeaways no matter how much I tried 2 bribe her she wouldn't eat it only sugar or junk food she would eat she started eating sausages a when she was about 4 and she's just started eating bread mince chicken pizza and when we go to burger-king if I'm lucky she will either eat her burger or chips sometimes she will just peck at the chips and also she went to stay at her cousins house and they have a dog that sleeps inside when my dorta came home she had either flea or mosquito bites all over her back stomach and legs (her legs are very scabby from these) but I did not notice any of these bite marks on my nieces body I'm taking her to the doctors today for a blood test for anemia and vitamin defincies as I'm sure this and the head-lice problem is what caused this alopecia does not run in my or my husbands family

I agree with Kae in that it may have a lot to do with the lice treatments. If over used then it will cause this problem.

Now you mention that she will not eat healthy food, and this can contribute to the problem but is a different problem in and of itself. Here you are setting her up for a mirad of medical problems, diabetes for one.

She will eat when she gets hungry, you as the parent should not be providing her with sweets. Parents contribute to bad eating habits in young children. Please take care to get her some help with her eating as childhood diabetes is a very very serious illness, and if she keeps these eating habits up it is a distinct possibility she may get this.
