    10 month old with fever
I have a 10 month old with the following symptoms: 101.8 fever, runny nose, trouble sleeping, loss of appetite and fussiness.

I treated with Tylenol and cooling cloths and am keeping him hydrated. Is there a need for me to take him to the pediatrician?

And why not? This is your child.

Which is to say that once conventional means have been exhausted, you should take your child to the paediatrician. I would have taken him when the behaviour changed, which would have been the appetite and fussiness and differing sleep schedule.

    Please take him.

I have no idea why a mom with a baby would come here asking this question. Why waste time, joining and waiting for answers. This does not make sense.

My first reaction would have been DOCTOR no questions asked.

That's a high temperature. Does the temp go down with tylenol? If not, doctor, and right away. If the temp goes down but he's still not eating, still fussy, still not sleeping, then doctor right away.

But this is your call. It's your child. As his mother you have to decide when he needs a doctor. As a mother, if this were my child, I would have gone to the doctor already.
