    DVD not able to regonize disc
    Hi,

    Please can any one help me.

    Mine is DVD combo drive
    When I put any disc (DVD or any CD). My drive light flash for 11 times and nothing happens. When I try to open the movie in Power DVD, it says no Disk...

    But an hour back I saw the same movie.

    Please help

    When you put "any" disc what have you tried? A retail DVD? Burned CDs? A retail game?

    To try and determine the problem, you'll have to get your hands dirty and open up the PC, check all the cable connections, make sure fitting tightly.

    Another solution is to check where the drive is on the IDE chain and move it to a different IDE connector. Most older PC's will have two IDE interfaces for up to 4 IDE devices. Normally if only 1 hard drive it is "Primary Master".

    You then have "Primary Slave", "Secondary Master" and "Secondary slave". Usually with only 1 cd drive, it would be connected as a "Secondary Master".

    Try connecting the DVD as a "slave" device on an unused IDE connector, by moving the jumper to the "slave" position. See here for info.
