I think my 17 year old cat had a stroke and she's been drinking lots of watee
My 17 year old was asleep then next min she got up and her head was tilted to one side and she was walking all over the place with her legs crossing over each over, she's been drinking lots off water too, I have been to the vets and told me to come back tomorrow for some blood test the vet thinks it's a brain tumor or kiddneys failer or it could be diabetes. Can you tell me what do you think please I'm really worried and don't want to get her put down as I am scared. Thanks

How is she doing now? Is she still walking that way? Has she eaten anything or used her litter box?

Diabetes or thyroid problems will cause a cat to sit at the water bowl and drink a lot. Has your cat lost a lot of weight? Has her fur gotten matted and full of dander?

Seventeen is a good age for a cat. If she's uncomfortable with no remedy, it would be a kindness to have her put to sleep.

It could be her thyroid. My oldest cat (age 19) has this problem, along with the water fixation, matted fur, and weight loss. Please let us know what the vet says.
