    Swelling of an amputated limb on our kitten.
    We have a six month old male cat with an amputated front leg. The end of the limb is swelling and soft. The operation was completed when he was two months old. Should we be concerned and is there anything we can do or give to our cat to help with the swelling.

    You should absolutely not be asking us this question if a vet did the operation successfully. Aftercare should be covered by the vet, and this if aftercare, call your vet and ask.

    Well thanks but I got him from someone who had 11 cats and had to get rid of him I live in the middle east and have no clue as to who did the surgery and I think 4 months after care is too much to ask a vet. And the operation was a success he is still here after being ran over by a car and having ribs broken, leg broken and his little face smashed, so I think it was a success. But thanks for that response, and the swelling has subsided on it's own with no infection.

    I take it you didn't like my response, sorry but it was the only one I could give loving cats as I do and having to look after a few that were, well, past saving so many thought.

    No I don't think four months is too much to ask a vet for 'after care' Why would it be with regard to the expense.

    You took so long to give us feedback.

    But I have to ask after so much traumatic experience to that little body, that he/she must look a mess still.

    Don't give us a response where you think you are being got at. That is not the case here. Why are you so sensitive to this ?

    Thanks for your feedback nonetheless but your vet still has an obligation if he/she loves animals and wants to see them well. My vet does.
