    Stray cat
We have taken in a stray cat who had kittens 6 weeks ago. Unfortunately despite keeping her separate from our own cats our female cat has decided to take off and only comes back occasionally to eat. We think she has found a new home and are very upset but what can we do to help the situation. Our male cat is wary but still at home.

Our cat is 10 years old spayed, lovely, placid and very good natured. We were torn in the beginning as to whether it was wise to take in another cat but as she was pregnant we felt it fair to home her. She too is very placid and good natured cat. Help we want to keep all three but fear we have made the wrong decision and that someone else has gained our beautiful cat.:(

She may not have 'found' a new home. She either might be lost or someone else may have forced her into a new home. A cat who is happy where she is should try to get back home. So I do not think I'd assume "she found" a new home for herself. I'm sure she would like to be back in the home she was used to, with the people she knows.

I would start by putting an ad in the lost n found of the paper. (Our local one does not charge for this section.) And check with the humane society or other shelters you have in your area. Hopefully someone has her safe and will respond to the ad (and may even be looking for one), or might have already called a shelter. Someone has to know you are looking for her in order to respond.

I live on a farm and for the past week we have had a stray cat hanging around. It got really cold last week (-30!) so the cat has been living in one of our steel buildings. I noticed it is VERY skinny - almost nothing left of it. So I started giving it dry and canned cat food as well as water. ...

Over a year ago we had this cat that showed up at our door and we name him Gizmo, because he looked like a cat/squirrel. He has always been very low-keyed and not caused any problems, other than laying on our cars and leaving hair, etc, nothing or major. Sometimes when we go out he gets close to...

We've had a pregnant stray hanging around for a little over a month now. We've been feeding her and provided a crate in the garage hoping she would opt to have the kittens in there. She's very friendly and loves all the attentions she's been getting. Today, we ddn't see her for most of the day...
