    Sick?
    My cat has been (sick? )it is in a sausage type shape and has hair in it and is brown.its not sloppy.

    Is this the same cat with the eye problem? It sounds like the cat threw up a hairball.

    Since you're already going to the vet about the eye issue, mention this when you're there as well. Sadly we can't diagnose online, we can only guess. I would agree with WG and guess that it's a hairball, but that's just a guess.

    How long have you had the cat? He has never done this before?

    If it was indeed a hairball, you would do well to buy a brush that is good and appropriate for cat brushing and use it every day so he licks off and swallows less of his fur when he grooms himself.

    That was a hairball... You can go to Petsmart and get a paste for your kitty to eat that helps with hairballs

    My cat does it a lot its hairballs. You can get stuff for them to lick to alleviate it a bit. Bit of oily fish is good for them too.
