    Kitten Clinging
I'm not sure how old Dante was when we rescued him, but I'm thinking he was maybe 3-4 weeks old. He was super small. We got him about a week before I found out I was pregnant, so I'm guessing now he's about 6 months. He is driving me nuts. He follows me everywhere, including sitting on the side of the tub when I'm showering (at the risk of being wet, he just don't care) or taking a bath. If me and my husband go to make love, he sits there and screams at the door. I don't know what his problem is. Also, when we go to the store, he is sitting at the door when we get home. He jumps all over us, and if we try to keep him out of our room, he'll scream non-stop. I just don't know what to do anymore. Is it because he has separation anxiety issues, abandonment issues, or what? I can't stand his screaming meows, so I'll let him in the bedroom. Yes, I have got a few opinions on this, recommended to get another cat, but we tried this, and the other cat ran away. And Dante was extremely hostile towards the cat. I don't want him to do it to our daughter, who's coming in January. Is there any way to break this clingy, aggressive towards animals, behavior?

jennyann, if you are concerned about your baby, I understand that, especially with a jealous young cat. I think you had better re-home him with someone who needs the attention also. I can't say wait and see because I don't think that is wise especially when it may drive you nuts watching your new baby and the cat as well, to see what his reaction is. Yes, you are probably right about his personality.

Is there a possibility he'll grow out of it? I really don't want to re-home him. I love him to death. My husband thinks maybe neutering him will mellow him out, but we hafta wait until we move before we can. Re-homing is the last resort. I love having him around because when I get depressed, he knows and makes me feel better. It's just... the concern for the upcoming baby. I'm thinking about seeing if he mellows out with neutering, but if he doesn't, then :( I will pbly hafta re-home him. Thank you for the advice. :)

Neutering sometimes mellows a male cat out a bit.
