    Cat vomiting/diarrhea
My cat got a rabies shot today around 12:30pm, around 5:30pm she started vomitting and having diarrhea. Is this because of a reaction to the shot, and will it pass, or should I be more worried? She is very alert and doesn't seem to be sick other than now she has vomitted about 5 times and has started to dry heave.

I hope your cat is better by the time I post this. Anytime an animal does something unexpected after a visit to the vet, it really warrants a call to them. I have known some cats to have adverse reactions to vaccinations, and one friend's older cat even died. I have opted to not have my "go nowhere" cats vaccinated any more as a result of how much trouble has recently occurred with bad vaccines. That may seem extreme but I talked it over with my vet -- a very objective man and he said my decision is not without some merit. If your cat is not better, please call your vet.

I hope you got your cat to the vet, your cat was likely having an anafalactic reaction! Please in cases like this, don't ask for internet advice, call your vet or the overnight hospital if its late!
