It seems as thoght the last couple of weeks our cat has become withdrawn and strated biting me more often; even when we are not playing. I do not know what to do and why he is acting this way. Any ideas?

Health issues in cats can sometimes manifest themselves in behavioral changes. Eg: diabetes, thyroid disorders. Usually in older cats though. How old is your cat? Best to see a vet to rule out metabolic disorders.

Thank you for your reply. Our cat is only 4 years old and we were just at the vet in April. Maybe I will call the vet to see what he has to say. Again, thank you for reply!

Have there been any changes in the house? Number of people? Number of pets? Changed food? Moved houses? Rearranged furniture? Went from having windows shut to having them open, or vice versus?

Has he undergone any trauma? Stepped on? Shut in a door? Accidentally kicked? Loud noises that scared him?

If it's not a medical issue, it's probably an emotional one. It sounds like something has traumatized him, or he's angry about something.
