Stray cat is limping and crying
I found a stray kitten roaming around outside my apartment today and with it being cold I brought her in hoping to find her a home but when I got her she tried to hesitate and she was limping around and just collapsed. I brought her in and fed her and kept her warm but she seems to have pain in her knee. I can press anywhere on her leg and she is fine but the minute I touch her knee area she cries in pain and gets a violent type growl and will bite down on you but it don't hurt and when the pain subsides she will release her teeth. Also her leg will quiver and shake really bad for a few minutes but then goes away and starts again. I also notice rapid breathing not sure if that has anything to do with it or not but I cannot keep her nor do I have money for a vet so does anyone know what could be wrong and what I can do or who I can call to get her help. Please I'm desperate. I have tried humane society and other shelters but no one called me back yet and one's who did have no room for her although she is injured. How can I make her night better??

Call vets and explain the problem with the kitten and your finances. Certainly they all aren't so cold-hearted! At least ONE of them will take a look at her! Call the humane society and shelter again until you get a call back.

Please contact this rescue group first. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where their address & phone number is. Call them. Explain the kitten is a stray and is in a lot of pain, why you can't keep it or afford medical attention, and that you need to find someone willing to help this poor little thing. If the group is too far away from you, they might be able to direct to someone they work with in your area: Animal Rescue

If for whatever reason they are unable to help you or give you any kind of guidance, here two long lists of rescues & shelters in Pennsylvania. Scroll down and start calling the ones closest to where you live.
    Pennsylvania Animal Shelters

Pennsylvania Pet Shelters and Animal Rescue

One of them is bound to help you. You are a good person for no ignoring the plight of this poor creature. I wish more people would go out of their way to help as you have done. If you get a chance, let us know how it goes. Good luck. :)

Limping on and off? [ 7 Answers ]

Trink's been walking funny off and on yesterday and today. There are times when it seems like the right hind joint right at the ankle is "stiff", which makes her gait a little odd... hard to describe, but not as smooth and flowing on that leg as the others, with possibly a bit of a swing out. And...

Looking for some thoughts here on when I should go to a vet and how long I should take a "wait and see" approach. Here's the background: Took Trinkett out to the Speed Alley fund-raiser (essentially a lure course they set up enclosed by that orange cyclone fencing) the greyhound adoption group...

We acquired Max as an orphan by some new construction model homes (I've since decided this is a dog drop off zone). I thought he was an adult, as it turned out he was so young he hadn't lost a tooth even, and was already 37 pounds! He's now almost 2 - we have given him Halloween for a birthday...

Cat is limping [ 3 Answers ]
