First, I suggest getting a good book or two on cats and how to take care of them. Second, I strongly recommend getting the cat to a vet for a check-up and advice, if you haven't already. I think they still are getting their kitten shots at 8 weeks, and you will need to arrange to get him neutered as well.

To your specific questions: Cats don't need to be bathed unless they get into something really smelly or get something like oil in their fur. My cats are 9 years old, and have never been bathed. Your kitten should be eating a good-quality kitten food. Cats have a very different digestive system than humans, and several of the things that we eat can be very bad for (or even kill) a cat. Easter lilies are notorious cat-killers, for example. And finally, while I firmly believe that cats know their names, if you use them consistently, they aren't dogs. Don't expect him to come running when you call him. You may get a tail flick in acknowledgment that he heard you instead.

ASPCA: Pet Care: Cat Care Here is some good information on cat care. Kittens like to hide under recliners etc... so be careful of that also they will get inside of a dryer or a refrigerator so look before you close the door. A 2 month old kitten will get into anything & everything. Also neutering your cat will make it have a better tempermant and there are certain medical problems that can be avoided. Enjoy your new kitty.
