    Lethargic cat, meows very low
Since last night my cat has acted very strange. He is 5 years old. He makes that really low meowing sound like cats do if they are mad and hissed a lot. He licks his private area a lot and doesn't move around much or eat. If you call to him he used to come to you right away but you can't get him to do anything. What could be wrong? I'm afraid he may be really sick but I have no money to take him to the vet... what should I do?

He may have a urinary tract infection. If he has He will defintely need an antibiotic. Do you own anything of value, t.v. game system, stereo, jewelry, pawn or sell them. Also there are cash advancement places give them a try. Also there are blood centers that pay for plasma. If there is a will there is a way please do not let him suffer.

And to follow up on bushg... if he has a urinary tract blockage (where crystals from the infection block the urethra), he can die. In a matter of days, if that long. This is not a situation to treat lightly.
