Cat not eating for several days & dischargy stool
Hello. My cat has not been eating for several days and had diarrhea the past few days. I noticed in the litter box today that his stool almost looks like stomach acid. Ive been trying to get him to eat his dry food but he is adamant that he doesn't want it. Ive tried soft food and even cat grass to see if it'll aide in his digestion. I bought "Digestive Upsets" from Petco because it lists some of his symptoms. He is not an overweight cat - about 8 lbs. His hair underneath his anus is matted with dried diarrhea. He has never been an active cat so I can't tell if he's acting lethargic. Any suggestions of what I should do or what may be his problem? Thanks so much for your assistance.

Please get him to your vet or to a local veterinary clinic ASAP. This has already gone on dangerously long. Don't try to encourage dry food: He is surely dehydrated, and dry food can make it worse (is he drinking any water?). Take dehydration seriously, it is extremely dangerous, and the diahrrea that you've described has me very worried. Try to find someone who will see him over the weekend. DON'T PUT THIS OFF. There are a lot of things it could be, but without an exam, and possibly some blood work, it would be idle for me to try to speculate.

Please let us know how he makes out.

Check his ears, if the inside skin is yellowish he may have Heptatic Lipadosis. Also check the whites of his eyes, or they yellowish too? If so, your cat has jandice. Take to vet, but heptatic lipidosis is treatable, even from home.
