Why won't my 1994 Civic start?
I have a 94 Civic and it won't start. I had the timing done and replaced the bad main relay fuse. But my car still doesn't start. I noticed that there's no sound coming from the fuel pump, so what I tried was directing the main lines that go from the fuel pump to a battery and then it'll on and give the engine fuel. So I was thinking maybe it could be my ignition switch because I been messing with it because I opened it and the contacts where low, so what I did was soldered it so it could have contact and this worked for a while but will get really hot and would melt the housing of the ignition switch. So I was wondering if this could be the problem to why my car wouldn't start or could it be something else? Please help me I really need my wife's car to start. I just don't want to keep spending on something that's not the problem. Don't hear fuel pump, I replaced main relay fuel pump only works when directed so fuel pump should still be good, can ignition switch be causing this problem? :)

    . This should help:

. Test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Ensure Check Engine Light comes on and goes off, after two seconds, when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

Actually I know that the fuel pump is working. But I was wondering about the Ignition switch if it could be causing the fuel pump not to on?

    Sure, that's a possibility.

I just changed my Main relay fuse but I still don't hear my fuel pump on. I think it has to do with my ignition switch. Doesn't this also control a certain thing that has to do with activating maybe the fuel pump?
