Both a truck and a car are as safe as their operators can make them.

In a collision, some say trucks can take more punishment while others argue the car could possibly out-maneuvered the situation...
Virtually every aspect has bad point and good.

Exactly what truck is she drooling over?

Your asking a very open ended question. Newer cars and trucks come well equipped with many safety features like airbags. I'm not a car expert but I'd have to say vehicle for vehicle the older you get I'd put my money on the truck (again just my .02) Keep in mind lots (4X4's) can be very "tippy" if you jerk the wheel to sharply. The best defense is the driver, keep it around the speed limit and pay attention... She'll be fine...

A vehicle with an experienced, attentive driver is the safest vehicle.

Get in just about any truck, pull the drivers side sun visor down, and look at the warning labels pasted on it. You'll see the roll over rate is higher in a truck than a passenger car.
    But I still like trucks!
