Looking at a "Honda Oils, Fluids, and Chemicals Reference Guide," dated 2002, it specifies Honda Genuine Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF-Z1, Honda P/N 08200-9001. Here's what it says:

. Formulated for all Honda/Acura vehicles, including CVT transmissions.

    . Optimum shift quality.

    . High viscosity index fluid.

    . Special anti-wear characteristics.

. Special additives protect seals and o-rings for prolonged service life.

My local Honda dealer tells me that ATF-Z1, for CVT applications, has been superceded by Honda Genuine Continuously Variable Transmission Fluid, Honda P/N 08200-9006.

Change the transmission fluid, after the car reaches normal operating temperature, on your Civic every 48,000 km or 2 years, whichever comes first.

Here are several other products worth checking out:

. Red Line Synthetic Oil - Automatic Transmission Fluids - H-Type CVT

. AmalieStore:: Wolf’s Head Universal Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid, Transmission Fluids, 836-92866-56

    I prefer full-synthetic transmission fluids.

I believe CVT NS1 and CVT NS2 are fluids for Nissan CVT vehicles.
