    Starter problem
I have just replaced my Hyundai Accent 2004 model's gearbox from auto to manual. The gearbox is funtions well but the main problem is starter. Do I need to replace the starter as well or is there anything to be considered as well. My mechanic suggested starter bending which we replased but still giving a problem. Please help me out.

Have you tried installing a reman. Starter for your exact manual transmission? That's what I would do.

Thanks TxGrease, may you please help me out on the processes to reinstall the reman. I am not sure as my mechanic did change the starter bendings.

. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

. Buy the proper bolts, if necessary, for mounting the reman. Starter motor. If you are able to reuse the old bolts, clean the threads on a wire wheel. Afterwards, spray the threads with WD-40.

. Install the starter motor and shims, if any. One bolt frequently needs to be long enough to go into the engine block--this is the grounding bolt.

. Clean the wire and cable connections with abrasive cloth. Afterwards, apply dielectric grease.

. Attach the "S" wire to the starter solenoid and the positive battery cable to the starter motor.
