    Registration, inspection, different states
So my husband and I have been in az for a year now, but our permanent residence is in Texas. A few days ago Texas sent me my registration renewal notice. I did so right away online. I know that military members can have plates for their own state no matter where they're stationed in the states. My question is, Arizona requires emissions testing. So is us having Texas registration going to hinder that when we go to get it done? Someone also told me some states give exemption to military members regarding emissions testing but I can't get a hold of offices until tomorrow or possibly Monday so I'm hoping someone on here has some insight? Thank you.

From everything I understand you go by the state law of the plate.
So with Texas not requiring emissions and you having Texas plates you shouldn't need the emissions.

Arizona requires emission tesing on out-of-state registered vehicles?
While it would be nice to know that your vehicle isn't polluting excessively, unless there's something written into the state or local ordinance about extended visitation, I don't know how they could require a vehicle from another state or jurisdiction to submit to such testing.

My understanding unless you are military, you have 30 days to change the tags or they are tech invalid.

I know in GA as a police officer, people who moved here were given tickets all the time when they actually lived in GA but kept out of state plates
