A/C problems on 2003 Honda Accord
The a/c on my 2003 honda accord will all of a sudden stop blowing cold air. I already had the filter changed thinking that was the problem. The mechanic is having a hard time figuring out what is wrong with it because everything checks out good but seems to think it could be a sensor or something. It doesn't stop blowing air it just isn't cold and after awhile it will start to get cold again. Has anyone else had this problem or tell me what might be wrong with it?

I'm having the same problem, dealer charging me 81 $ per hr to diagnose it. They just called me and said that it's going up to 240 $ and they still don't know what the problem is. My ac just intermittently shuts off, then after a while it goes back on. Did you ever figure out what the problem is? They said it might be a computer problem or a signal that goes to the clutch.

Check the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) in the evaporator--it's the sensor, I believe, he senses is bad.

I have had a similar problem with my 2003 Accord V6 in which the AC has suddenly stopped producing cold air, but still blows (and the temperature sensor works as when I change the temperature setting on "auto" the blower speeds up or down). Also, even stranger, the lights for my gear display (Park, Neutral, D, D3, D2, D2) suddenly went out. Wondering if there is a connection. Of course, my warranty just expired this past August, so I am hoping that someone has a "inexpensive" recommendation. Thanks in advance.

Gomeygoo, your problem sounds like the blower motor resistor. Has anyone figured out what the problem is with the AC not working? Mine has started doing this same thing and they can't figure out what is wrong with it.

I have had multiple problems with mine. First the air cooled but not well. Clutch came on and Pressure in the system on the cool side is good (45psi). I have to check out the high side pressure. Now the cooling fan in the front of the car is staying on and killing the battery. I am going to spending the evening troubleshooting this problem. I have the dealer service manual and I will get to the bottom

I just had this same problem today. AC blows air but not cooled. The air controls and radio work fine. Also the dash light indicator for the gear shifter and the cruse control both quit at the same time. My immediate thought was a fuse or breaker issue but couldn't find any with a problem so far. Did you find the fix for this?

My 2003 EX, almost 40K, had the same problem this summer. For me, my mechanic replaced the fuse for it, and it immediately started blowing cold again. My husband's car charger for his cell phone blew the fuse. My other problem? The modes don't change when you select them. It stays in defrost. After my mechanic replaced the mode motor, I took it to Gwinnett Place Honda to get the diagnostic complete. They told me I had a bad mode motor (yeah right). They wouldn't warranty the part to me, but would my mechanic. I took the car back to him, and he replaced the 'faulty" mode, but the modes still won't change. I'm tempted to pay the fee to get access to serviceexpresshonda.com to see if the circuit for the mode motor is located on the board that gets replaced with the backlight problem. Then I'm going to pray it breaks. No seriously. My mechanic is begging me to get it looked into, but I am unwilling to fork over the cash for another bad diagnostic.

Ok here is what I have found so far. First I troubleshot per the Manufactures Manual (from Helm INC). 1st item was the compressor clutch coil because the controler was not sending the right amount of voltage thus causing the current to spike and burn up the coil. Second the Vent recirc control motor was not working, it checked out fine. I believe it is the controler on the environmental controls. After much troubleshooting I still can't get the codes from the environmental controls computer. I have talked many of my mechanic friends and we have come to the conclusion that it is the controler. But with a Wholesale cost of $594.64. It won't be happening any time soon.

I had this problem too, the air would blow but not cool.. or get cool then stop and back n fourth. I had the o2 sensor #2 replaced and that corrected the problem.

I have a 2004 Accord. The A/C works off and on (no pun intended). Sometimes I can get it to work if I put the coldest temp on and push a bunch of buttons on and off. It will work for a while and then blow hot air again. If I mess with it again, sometimes I can get cool air, sometimes not. I'm taking it in tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens...

My a/c stopped working may 24th and gave me a code of PO141. Heater Circuit Malfuction. It was showing me to replace the 02 sensor at the Cat Converter. I did buy and replace the sensor ($72) engine light turned off but a/c is still not working. Not blowing nothing at all through the vents. NOTHING. What could be the prblem?

On our 2003 we found a relay had gone bad. It is under the hood under a plastic cover that has four clips holding it on. It is in the upper right at about 1 oclock.
The relay is black cube that just pulls out with either plyers or a small screwdriver. The prongs are in a "T" formation. The new part cost less than 10 dollars and can be bought at a regular auto part store. (ask for A/C relay)

Did anyone get the AC repaired on their 2003 Honda Accord. If so, what was the diagnoses and how much did you pay? My AC will blow cold for one minute and then blow hot air after which seems to be a similar problem on this site.
