99 Honda accord no parking lights or dashboard background light + SRS Light on
Recently I believe a problematic bulb caused a short in my car's
Electrical system. The reason I say this, is that the following
Problems have come up since I used the trailer...

    1. SRS light is now on
    2. The light that illuminates the spedometer, RPM's, and gas
(background light) doesn't illuminate - and YES I tried to adjust the
Dimmer. The indicator lights DO all work (when you turn the car on)
    3. The light for the passenger's mirror doesn't work any more
    4. The parking lights don't work any more in the rear (yet the brake
    Lights work)
    5. The chime that goes on when the headlights are left on but the car
Is turned off doesn't work any more

Other than that, those are the signs that I'm seeing. Could someone
Please advise me on whether this is a fuse issue, or something worse?
If it's a fuse issue, or series of fuses, which ones would you try? I
Opened the manual, and replaced a few, but struggle to find the fuse
That would get my parking lights and dash lights on.

When dash board light is not working, check the following few items:

    (1) Are parking lights working?
    (2) Is license plate light working?

If the above symptoms do exist, you have a problem with the electric line to the headlamp switch. If you check the fuse and it is OK, most probably the line to the fuse is not supplying the 12V(In GM, this is known as H9/H8). The simple check you can do is that measure the voltage at H9 (right side of the fuse) by using DVM.

I have 1997 Lumina, and installed in-line fuse (at a GM dealer, I paid $105.00, $98 labour and $7.00 part). This resolved my problem.

I don't know what others have said, but I'm an old hotrod builder(at 38) and I just had you're exact problem. I joined this site to specifically answer your question. My gauge lights(not the instuments) went out, the shifter lights, and my vanity visor light. It is the Dimmer module. I figured it from the shop manual. If you want to spend the money pop it out and replace it, or just pop it out, pull the 3 pin plug to it, and put a wire in the red wire pin to the black wire pin(not the red w/ black stripe, leave it alone). The black wire is ground. The solid red is a floating ground(the red color is misleading). I put a piece of solder from the red to the black and "Bam" all gauge lights came on. It's not a fuse!Do not touch the red w/black. You'll have full brightness gauge lights. I'm not spending $100 for some junk ricer dimmer switch. Mine daily driver is a 94 Accord. My real car is a 302 85 Mustang with a carb.
