    92 Buick hesitates
I have a 92 Buick Century.Sometimes when I slow down and make a turn or stop, when I mash the gas to go,it will not catch the gear. The engine is going but not the car. I let off the gas and it will catch and go. Now in order to go I have to put it in reverse or drive 1,or2,then it will catch. The mechanic says the electronics are working but may not be letting the plate go. It has 130,000 miles,is it not time for a new car?

Sounds like the transmission needs rebuilding. For your new car, try and change the transmission fluid and filter every 30,000 miles, preferably with Mobil 1 Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF. Use Mobil 1 in your engine and change the oil and filter every 6,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. If you do this, you will maintain like new performance and you won't have big, unexpected repair bills.
