90 civic No power to ECU
Just got a 90 civic for my son. Turns over fine, but won't start. I took the igniter, coil, and main relay out, put them into an acura that I have and they all worked. Started looking around and noticed that the CEL comes on with the key but never goes off. The red light on the ECU never blinks, making me think its not getting power. The shift lock is also locked on the car, brake lights work fine, don't know if this is related. Thought possibly the ignition switch may be bad. Anyone have any info?

    1. Check all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter.
    2. Clean the main ECM ground on the thermostat housing.
    3. Perform the K-Test on the ECM. The CEL must go off on most Hondas, in order for them to start. Problem likely involves an under-dash fuse, ECM, ignition switch, or main relay. Based on your test of the main relay, I'd run the K-Test and focus on the ECM.
    4. See if this helps:

Honda Civic (2000) ECU CVT error [ 3 Answers ]

Service diagnostic of my Honda Civic (manufacturing year - 2000) ECU showed the error 30-1. It seems to be the CVT error. Does there anybody know, what this error means? Could it be because of old dirty oil in CVT? The car was driven over 80.000 km, and oil has never changed.

92 honda civic lacks power [ 1 Answers ]

My 92 civic has been misfiring. I changed the spark plugs, cables, cap & rotor. The car started then turned off. Apparently the distributor went out. I changed that, the car was running fine. Next day it starts to lose power. Not exactly it lacks power but it takes long for it to get going. It...

How do you measure the input from the ECU to the ignitor (ICM) (YEL/GRN wire)?? This input tells the ignitor when to ground the -ve side of the primary coil. My multimeter registers a non zero small voltage when cranking, but since the response is very low on my meter, I don't think I'm...
