1. Is the battery fully charged?
2. Are you sure you checked all under-hood and under-dash fuses? Check with a test light or multimeter, so you don't put them back in the wrong slot.
3. Did the truck die while driving or does it just refuse to crank?

1. When you turn the ignition to ON, do you have a Check Engine Light that just stays on?
2. Does the engine crank at all?

Good. There are two main electrical flows. One is to the starter and the other is to the ignition switch.
First, I would try and get your truck to crank. I would check for a blown fusible link and then check for power at the starter solenoid. Make sure all connections are clean. Second, I would make sure the ignition switch is good. Third, I would check for power going from the ignition switch to the under-hood fuse/relay box.
Since nothing works, I suspect the problem could be with the ignition switch.

Simple. You have a bad starter solenoid. They are not expensive or hard to replace. Disconnect the negative. Battery terminal first. You might even take 250 grit abbrasive cloth and try cleaning the solenoid/starter contacts and everything will work. Spray with WD-40 afterwards or use silicone dielectric grease.

Yes. If your computer does not sense engine rotation, from the CYK sensor, it won't allow the engine to spark.

I'm writing a book that takes place in North Dakota, near Bismarck. Any information about the area would be helpful, like the landscape, climate, and especially the dialect... What kind of accent do people there have, and what slang do they use, etc. Thanks!
