    Intake: 0.15 - 0.19 mm (0.006-0.007 in.)
    Exhaust: 0.26 - 0.30 mm (0.010-0.012 in.)
Should only adjust valves when cylinder head temp is below 100°F(38°C)

Spark plug replacement interval: 110,000 miles (176,000 km)

I wonder why you feel that you must do a valve adjustment when doing a tune up. Don't over "service" something that does not normally require these adjustments. As a mechanic and engineer, you should be able to appreciate the fact that once you change one thing that has slight wear, other things connected will need adjustment also. Only do what the manufacturer recommends for usual service.
