    2000Dodge Inrepid A/C and Brakes
Hi I am a girl and I had my car looked at because my A/C was blowing hot and they checked it for leaks with dye etc and recharged it that lasted about a week what is wrong with it? It wasn't charged when I got it at the used car dealership either and I made them charge it but that didn't last long either.
And I had a shade tree mechanic do my front brakes at first they were squealing loud he replaced them and two months later they still squeal occasionally is this normal? Supposably they also pulled some metal flakes off too. New rotors were also installed.

I used to work for a Chrysler dealership, and "brakes squealing" was a common complaint. It was usually the rear brakes that were squealing and sometimes you could get rid of it and sometimes not. I did find that the cheaper brands of brakes squealed less than the factory or more expensive brands. You should take your car to a reputable mechanic(not a dealership)and have them look at it. It works out cheaper in the long run.

I have an 01 intrepid and had the Same problem... Had my brakes and rotors replaced because my rotors had warped.

When I got the new brakes on they squeeled, but after a few months it Finally stopped squeeling and they work Great now... the Only thing I had done during that time was take it back to the place of purchase had them "Service" the brakes - pretty much just check it out... Unfortunately it's a known problem for our cars...

If you ever have any other questions regarding the car go to this site... www.dodgeintrepid.net they can answer any question there...

As far as your AC, sounds like its shot to be - especially if they couldn't find the problem... but I honestly don't know too much about those...
