    2000 Ford Windstar Van
I have a 2000 Ford Windstar van that will not start, I have tried jump starting it and it will still not start, it is dead. Could it be that the battery is dead?

When you jumped it, did the starter motor crank? Verify that all under-hood and under-dash fuses are good. Ensure battery is fully charged.

Pull out the battery and take it to Auto Zone or Checker. They will charge it up and test the battery free of charge. Check your battery terminals and cables for corrosion or loose connections. If that fails, the problem is further downstream: such as starter, solenoid, relay etc. I assume that the enging tries to crank.

If A Boost Won't Start It, It Is Usually A Battery With Shorted Cells, Or The Brushes Are Right Out Of The Starter. Try A Battery That Is Known Good, Or Remove The - Neg Cable From The Exsisting Battery, And Put The Neg. Booster Cable Directly On The Cable Clamp, And The Pos + To The Positive On The Battery. This Will Eliminate The Existing Battery, And Prevent Unwanted Shorts. If The Enginge Cranks, Your Starter Is Good, And Your Battery Is Bad. Providing Your Cables, Grounds And All Connections Are Good. I Am Assuming So On A 2000. If It Is The Oem Motorcraft Battery, And Your Milage Is Low, And There Are No Serious Oil Leaks Over That Starter, I Will Bet It Is The Battery. Ford Pmgr Starters Hate Oil. Softens The Brushes And They Go In Half The Time.
