    1999 Ford Explorer Coolant leak
It has a slow coolant leak. I can't see any coolant from the top side of the motor. I can see some coolant around both motor mounts. It doesn't appear to be coming from any of the hoses or freeze plugs. I change the oil the other day and I didn't see any trace of water. Could this be coming from the intake manifold on both sides?

Possibly. Your best bet is to have someone perform a pressure test on the cooling system; check for leaks while it's pressurized.

Actually you're right its most likely coming from the rear of the lower intake manifold, 4.6l chevys (cop cruisers) actually have the same problem, the lower intake manifold is fairly cheap and not too hard to replace (around $100 and probably 3 or 4 hrs)

Depending on where you live you should be able to go to autozone, or Oriellys auto parte and rent a pressure tester. Place it in the radiator make sure that you have a good seal and pump it up. Make sure your vehicle is cooled of and you will hear air coming from the leak or see the coolant come out
