My 98 honda accord v6 recently had the engine lite come on and the code is 0740, at the store the guy said it was the torque converter or maybe a sensor.
The chiltons says it falls under the transaxel.
In the last few months the shifting hasn't been changing a bit, at times the rpms are higher before shifting in D4 and when it does it's a harder shift into another gear, doesn't do it all the time but more so when your taking it easy on the acceleration, when you hit the gas harder to merge into traffic faster it doesn't seem have probs.
Where/what is a good place to start checking

OK, reseached the site and found another 98 honda, a civic not a accord.

I guess I'll try a fluid/filter change on the tranny and see what happens.
What kind of tran fluid needs to be used? Would a full synthetic be better?
Brands?
Recommendations?
