1998 Honda Accord LX - starter problem
I have a 1998 Honda Accord LX that will not start - the engine will not turn over. This happened one time about 3 weeks ago and I was going to purchase a new starter (which I did about 3 years ago) but saw some information that it might be a main relay issue, but the car started every time I tried it after that day and it has been fine until today. The car was in my garage from Friday evening until Monday morning without being touched. The lights, blower motor, wipers and radio are fine. When I turn the key I hear the fuel pump in the back of the car, and after 1 or 2 seconds I hear a click from under the driver side dashboard, but the starter motor will not engage. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

It is definitely not the main relay. If the car is not even turning over, it must have something to do with the starter.

You may want to check for power at the starter first and check the wire coming from the ing. Switch. If you want the old school way of checking have a friend try and start the car and you tap the starter with a hammer if it starts it's the starter

Remove the black white wire from the starter solenoid and jump it with the positive terminal from the batery. Ensure you are in park... neutral and just touch the small connector. Don't touch any ground or you will get surprised... the starter solenoid will engage and the engine should turn over.. this means the starter is good. I am just trying to find out where the starter relay is on these cars..

If you find it before me please email me... lol thanks.
