1991 Honda Accord LX dies at same spot
My 91 Accord has been dying at the same spot, typically if it was a cold night before. It's always at the beginning of the drive when the engine is warming up. After it dies and I wait a few minutes it starts right back up and lasts the whole day. The car is at 168,000 miles and has a new timing belt/ muffler etc. so I really don't want to get rid of it. What should I do?

I would replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM), located inside the distributor. Apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the new ICM. Also, I would replace the coil, if it has not been changed in the last 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. Heat is the enemy of these components, which may be starting to break down under load (heat). These problems tend to get worse fairly fast--they can leave you stranded or die on you in the fast lane during rush hour traffic. This is an easy DIY project. Well maintained Honda Accords can easily go 300,000 to 400,000 miles.
