    Hi, m1c741!

    Do you know for sure if you even need a license? Around where I work, I don't need one to paint homes or the insides of commercial buildings. I know that some states do require painting contractors to be licensed.

    Going to city hall, a county government building to find out your requirements would be a good thing to do.

    United States Small Business Administration and Score.org are great places to find out all sorts of requirements and tips on business plans also for where and what you're wanting to do.

    How much experience have you had at painting, please?
