I would highly recommend working for another service until you learn what it invovled, how to do it, how long it takes to do jobs and what to charge.

This is some of the most inportant things you need to know.

Once you know that, you will need to have enough money to live on while you build your business or at least have another job to pay bills while building your business.

You will need to learn how to bid on jobs, what sort of insurance you will need to have.

If you are going to have employees, you will need to learn all about tax withholdings and the such.

Start with the small business admin for info on business

Cleaning business ? I know of no federal, state, county, parish, city or town that requires a bond of a cleaning service, unless you happen to be either cleaning the governmental entities premises and if that's the case, the city for example might require that you have a type of fidelity bond that is commonly called in the surety/fidelity industry a "third party fidelity bond" - it simply offers some protection, very limited protection, to the owner of the premises that you are cleaning, that should an employee of yours be convicted of stealing their property or money, that the bonding company would pay you for their loss and you in turn can pay them. That's the only type of bond I have ever issued for a cleaning service.

If you are in Melbourne Australia, I recommend you have a looking at Black & White Home Services Ph: 1300 133 822 for an obligation free chat. They have franchises at very reasonable prices available. The give support in setting up a business from the ground up, with ongoing help & support. They also manage the call centre for jobs, meaning more time for you to be out making money.
