    Japanese Maple Helicopters
We have a japanese maple in the backyard by our pool. Two years ago we had to have a
100 year old oak tree cut down as it was dying and dropping large branches into the pool.
This tree shaded the maple as it faces the west and gets the hot afternoon sun. This
Year the maple didn't loose it's helicopters and the tree looks thinner than last summer.
We try to keep it watered since it is not used to full sun. Why didn't it drop the
    Helicopters?
