I need some names of good inspirational novels by well known authors. Are they available on the net i.e. their free downloads as e-books?

I highly recommend "A Bend in the River," by V.S. Naipaul. It's an action packed novel written by a Nobel Prize winner. The story is great by itself and the underlying themes are there if you want to think about them. But don't take my word for it. You should consider reading some online plot summaries to see what catches your interest. A great site that I use a lot is called The Plot Spot. They have a lot of great plot summaries and I know that A Bend in the River is included.

Check to see if your local library is connected to a network of ebooks. Then it is free and legal. Your taxes pay for the books.

Otherwise most authors are willing to let you read the first chapter for free but they have to pay their bills.

    These are free and legal.

Old romance novels [ 6 Answers ]

I enjoy reading the old mills and boon or harlequin novels. My favorite author is Sara Seale. Can anyone give me names of some of the other older authors. I don't enjoy the ones that have explicit sexual encounters. I enjoy the ones that are clean and wholesome. Can anyone help. Thanks
