    Who are you thanking?

    I've seen "The family of the late X would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at X Hospital for their excellent care and compassion of our loved one."

    You can say whatever you want to say and say it to whatever person or group was helpful.

    Do you want to mention that there was no funeral?
