What is my intolerance to toner?
Every time toner is put on my hair, even if it is only for 20 seconds (such as today) my hair turns ash, green, or gray! The stylist assured me that 20 seconds of toner could not have any affect on my hair, but I know me, my hair and all of the prior experiences I have had!! Does anyone have an answer as to how I get this green/ash out of my hair? She told me there was no way to get it out... Can anyone tell me why this happens every time toner is used? No matter the brand, or the length of time it is left on my hair. Personally I think my hair looks better without toner, but today I forgot to mention it and again I will have to pay the price! Please help!! Thank you... :o) joelle

I found out a long time ago that if I use any 'ash' coloured permanent hair dye my hair turns green, so I steer away and go for any blond shade with no ash. The only way you will get it changed is to overdye with a colour not ash tone based.

If you get a green cast every time you color your hair, it's probably because your hair has a natural ash tone or you're using green-based hair colors. You will need to use a hair coloring product that contains a red base to neutralize the green cast in your hair. I recommend that you go to the salon and have them fix your hair. A trained stylist may be able to use a technique to correct the problem.
