    Painful scalp bumps or cysts
I have painful bumps or cysts on my scalp. They tend to come and go. This only started when I was 23. I am now 25. I am a female African American. I have seen the DR, and he said it was " hydonitus"? Can anyone help me? Is it serious? What causes it?

It's called hidradenitis. It occurs in areas of the body that contain sweat glands, including the scalp. This condition can get worse if it's not treated early. It can lead to inflammation and painful abscesses. The same antibiotics that are used for acne are used for hidradenitis, but only stronger. There's no cure for hiradenitis, however it can be treated. If your condition doesn't improve, please consult your doctor for a proper treatment.
