Making blonde fade to light brown
Hi, I'm trying to grow my blonde out, but it is taking ages and I have about 2 inches of roots that are light brown and it looks terrible.

Can anyone please tell me how I can make this blonde fade asap?

My hair keeps colour extreamly well, which usually I am thankful for, but not now. I never use colour treated shampoos or conditioners and I used to have red that would last for six months or more still looking rich. So in other words its always been in great condition. I don't know why 'cause dying ruins it I know, but I'm willing to use treatments that might damage my hair slightly because it tends to recover well!

Can anyone help me say bye bye to the blonde and get back to my natural colour?

    Without dying my hair!

    Thank you!

You can go to a hair salon, and get them to "strip" the color of your hair.. which will be expensive, but worth it, if you really want you natural color back. BUT dying your hair like brown, actually doesn't damage your hair. If you do your hair BLONDE.. it does, because that's bleach. BE SURE when you get your hair done.. [blonde], to do a conditioning treatment on your hair! So it won't be so damaged. And a conditioning treatment helps a lot if you straighten your hair, or use a lot of heat on your hair [such as curling, hot rollers etc.]
The only advice I have with making it FADE, is wash it A lot! Or you can just dye it the closest color to you natural hair color, so it won't look so bad!
    Hope this helped!

Sweetie, it's impossible to make blonde hair fade to light brown. If your current color is blonde and want to go back to your natural color, you will to apply a color that matches your natural shade. Remember that going from blonde to a darker color can result an unwanted color if you don't use right base color. You should consider going to the salon and have a corrective color done. The stylist will mix a formula to match your natural hair as close as possible.

I see what you both mean, Thank you!

I thought you could only use stripper when going from dark to light hair?

Is there any way I could dye my hair myself? I mean I understand I'd have to work more on the blonde because the colour would take more to the blonde than my roots, but is there a way I could be instructed on this? (ok I re-read this sentence and I know it doesn't make sense lol) I mean I know I'd have to work more on a certain part of my hair, roots or blonde :P

I took this picture about a month ago... http://a949.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...fb74d32ed4.jpg

It shows my light brown and blonde, what sort of colour base would I have to use before I put a colour on that I would like? This colouring business is very confusing, I'm assuming I would need a base colour?

Thanks, I know I have a lot of questions xxx

Oh! And you said I could try washing it a lot, is there a particular shampoo that is very good at this?

    Thanks again!

Moiette, if you are trying to go from blonde to light brown, you will need to deposit a hair color that's close to your natural on your hair. Washing your hair excessively will not make it light brown, your hair will still be blonde. I recommend that you go the salon and ask them to do a tint back. A tint back is when a stylist tries to match your natural hair color as closely as possible.
