    Hives?  Or what?
Hi I am a 23 year old woman, and for the past three weeks or so I have had itching red marks all over my body from the neck down. The red marks are fairly large in some places, about the size of my thumbnail, and are terribly itchy. They are also all dry to the touch. I've been stressed a lot lately and I was thinking they were hives, but now I'm not so sure since they just won't seem to go away. I've been using Benadryl and Lanacane and they don't seem to be working. Does anyone have any suggestions? As in non doctor-related suggestions? I am a poor college student at the moment and the doctor's office is not really an option for me :(. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you changed anything lately that contacts your body? A year ago losing the pine scented detergent my wife was using, fixed my itching problem. Could even be something the dorm is using. Do you have linen service? I also find Equate brand cortisone from Wal-Mart helps.

I have been experiencing the same problem with big red hives breaking out throughout the day. I totally cannot pinpoint what is making this occur. They start anytime of the day, and for the first two weeks or so I was only getting them on my back, and one on my arm. Now I am getting them on my legs, more on my arms. They leave big red marks after the swelling goes away, and then are leaving dry patches. I am seeing a doctor on Monday and hope he can tell me something. I am taking Zertex (I may be spelling that wrong) sometimes during the day, but take benedryl at night if I manage to get through a day without the 24 hour zertex. Any suggestions are welcome, beside the annoying itch and ugly marks, its making me crazy not know why this is happening.
