Use lotions... It's so much easier, and you can control the color of your tan and change it as much as you want. There are gradual tanners out there that are awesome.

And some of them have shimmers in them that really just give your whole body a glow. I love them, personally.

The best way to keep a tanning bed tan is to moisturize A LOT before getting in the bed, and to go more often.**

**Not the healthiest way to go, hence my first post.

    Tanning beds are self tanners.

How long have you been tanning? How often do you do it: daily, weekly, monthy etc?

If you are light to faired skin then it will always stay that way. Tanning won't get your skin dark permantely. If you had skin that were naturally dark then you wouldn't have to worry about tanning.

I believe from experience that going once a week will give my skin a good base tan versus going everyother day.

When I said self tanners I was talking about self tanning lotions because that's what the lady was talking about. And I know that the tanning bed doesn't give you a permanat tan all I need to know is what product can I use to get darker.

You can hydrate before entering the bed. Use a tanning lotion before getting in the bed, and use a lot of it.

Honestly using a self tanner is your best bet. Staying in the bed longer, or using different lotions really won't help. I've had the same problems. And I finally gave in and got a spray on tan every weekend. I finally reached the level of tan I wanted.
