Original judgement in SC in 1987-Atty renewed in FL 1998 -threatens legal action now
I took a loan w Blazer Finance in SC in 1987-Couldn't pay and they got a judgement. I never paid any money and in 1998 Blazer went to court in Broward Cnty, FL represented by a FL attorney and received a Default Judgment against me. Now in February of 2010 I received a legal letter threatening to take my two automobiles which are free and clear if I don't call the attorney. Is this legal? Do I have any rights here?

Was the Florida judgment renewed after 7 years at the Broward County Courthouse? If no, then they can't. If the judgment was renewed after 7 years, then yes, they can.
