Past debt over 10 years I believe I paid.
I just received a settlement offer for $46.90. A phone bill from over ten years ago. This is the first time ever in over ten years anyone has ever tried to contact me. I am 98% sure I paid this bill. But of course, I have no records to prove it. What do I do?
    I reside in NY.
    Thank You.

    You either
    A. find proof it was paid
    B. check if you can get out of it by disputing it with your state statute of limitation laws or something
    C. pay it
    D. or let it go and have it on your credit report

I agree with Nohelp, ironic name huh? Always helpful though!

Have them provide you proof that it is YOU that owes this debt. And research your statute of limitations laws in your state.

Also, if this is a ten-year-old debt, I would assume it would already be on your credit report.
