    Credit card debt summons
I have credit card debt from four different cards. One is our local credit union (washington state) and I believe they are trying to send me a summons. I was contacted by an ex-partner who said they contacted him with "papers". He said he did not know how to contact me. If they cannot find me can they file the suit? How would I know when the court date is to happen if I do not hear from them?

Yes, if they can not find you though normal channels, they will merely post it in the legal section of the paper where it is required in the court they are filing with, and hold the hearing without you. ( you would lose of course)

So your friend has really not helped you at all saying he did not know where you are. Since if they have no other choice they will have it without you having a chance to represent yourself.

So it is in your best interest to be found, and appear at the hearing

Thank you for the info. Do you know where I can look to find out when and where the court date would be without contacting the bank themselves?
