    Bank Account Frozen
I have a judgment that I am trying to make payment arrangements on I do not dispute the debt and want to take care of it. I have had great finanical strain the last year. I am only receiving unemployment as income currently and now they have froze my bank account. My unemeployment is direct deposited and now I have no access to any money. I support my 4 kids on my own and I want to know if they can freeze all the money that goes into my account. My unemployment will not cover the debt which is about 1400.

I am not sure how to proceed but I am starting to panic since I can't even buy a 1/2 gallon of milk right now.

They apparently got a judgement against you. That permitted them to seize the bank account. Sorry there is little you can do about it assuming the judgement was validly obtained.

    You might try social services.

Once you have a judgement against you, that is too late to work out any payments, since they have the judgement,

Yes, all the money that goes in, will be taken, so you need to call and get that direct deposit stopped NOW.
You can check to see if unemployment is exempt in your state, it is in many places.

Call the court and ask for an exemption hearing due to financial burden. They will give you instructions from there (Usually faxing paperwork proving that the income is from unemployment along with a letter with the case number and request for exemption.) Unemployment income is exempt from garnishment in most states. It may take a week, but at least you'll have access to your money soon.

I am going through this very situation right now and went to court today. I was successful. Good luck to you!
