    Swift Wire Transfer Fees
    How can I determine the total amount of fees that will be charged for an International Wire Transfer from the US to Canada?

    Well your bank should be able to tell you their fees for it, and the receiving bank's fees are probably about the same. You could have your bank call the receiving bank just before sending it so you can pay a bit more to cover both fees.

    I paid $50.00 for the wire transfer I sent to Canada, and the receiving bank at the end charged the recipient $2.00.. . However, the amount received by the receiving bank was $10 less than the wire transfer. My bank says, it must have been charged by some bank in between where the wire stopped. They said they have no control over it after it leaves the bank and have no knowledge of additional fees that will be charged.

    It seems you should be able to determine the amount of fees you are going to pay before you send the wire.
