    Depositing large cheque into ATM
I'm in Canada (with TD to be exact). I am receiving a loan in the next week in the form of one cheque, for $10,000.

I work long hours, and even though the hours of TD are great, by the time I get there, they usually are closed. For convenience sake, I'd like to deposit this cheque through the ATM.

For such a large sum, do you think this would work? Or should I skip out of work early to visit a teller? I deposit cheques all the time into the ATM, and I get $200 immediately, until the rest clears in 5-7 days.

The only risk I see is a possible lost check (seldom) and a slight delay getting the funds available.
