I would try calling my bank and telling them it wasn't "suspicious" activity... They will want to verify that it is indeed you, and then hopefully will clear things up..

Excuse me? Your bank froze your account because of WHAT? Who authorized this under what laws? I would have been at my branch the first thing this morning DEMANDING the answers to those questions. And if answers were not forthcoming I would demand the account be unfrozen immediately.

If the problem is this $2500 deposit, then freeze that until the issuing institution confirms it. But that's no justification for freezing the whole account.

    Hello darling:

In the legal world we try to use precise language because teeny differences in language make BIG differences in law.

In your case, the bank wouldn't "suspect" anything about a deposit. Unless part of the deposit bounced or somebody told them something. Therefore, you need to find out what the bank thinks happened and then you need to fix it.

Call them up and talk to them - unless YOU knew about some illegal stuff that you tried to get away with. If that's the case, don't talk to the bank. Don't talk to the cops. GO talk to a lawyer.
