    Garnishment from account
 I had money taking from my account by my bank, but we never received a letter saying that a judgment was reached against us. Can they do this?

Yes, they can, but you can fight back. You need to get a copy of the court order from your bank and file a Motion to Vacate judgement with the court on the grounds of improper service. They will then have to prove they served you notice or made a good faith try. If they can't the judgement will be vacated and they will have to resubmit.

There are several other threads in the Bankruptcy and Debt forum that discuss the same issue. I suggest you spend some time browsing.
